Grown-Up

I made the kids new job charts during Mom's Minute (and taught a lesson about modesty, this, however had little impact on children running around naked) where they got to pick their own jobs.

I had jobs that they must do first.

Make bed
Dirty laundry to the hamper
Pick up trash
Pick up toys
Mom check

If their rooms were approved, then the kids could do chores they chose. Emma was very excited. She picked vacuuming and cleaned her room very well so she could vacuum it. The boys love running, screaming at the tops of their lungs, away from the vacuum. So, now that Emma was going to vacuum, both younger brothers were in her room for the requisite screaming and running.

At one point Emma stopped and scolded them.

She said, "Stop it, boys. Don't you see I'm a grown-up now?"
