Economy

Does the economy scare anyone else right now? Whether it's job security, loss of wages or rising costs, a lot seems to be going on right now. I, for one, am a tad nervous.

Yeah, we are unemployed because of a business being sold and both struggling to find new jobs. It's scary.

I'm definitely nervous. Everything is costing more, but no one is getting paid more. I'm especially nervous as a homeowner. We plan on selling in the next year or so, when Will starts med school, and I'm concerned if we'll be able to get a good deal out of it.

You betcha! Nothing is for certain for anyone right now. What further concerns me is that it doesn't look like it's going to get any better any time soon, especially not with the way the the vocal minority in this country thinks, the way the race for the U.S. Presidency is going, and the way the rest of the world views the U.S.

I'm just grateful we have the choice to listen to our church leaders, to heed their warnings, and follow their counsel to become prepared for times such as these (that's not to say our little family is where it should be yet...but we'll just keep working on it until we are.) : )

Yah, you could say I'm concerned. My dh and I are both professionals, but even with education and training, I don't feel secure at all.

In the last year, I have had to rely on my so-called food storage because one of my contracts has failed to pay in a timely fashion. I am grateful that I listened when I was prompted to get a food storage in order.

Now, I am scrambling to finish my long term by the end of the year. I just feel like this has to be a priority for my fam over all other financial goals... I've done well, but have a distance to go.

With the rise in cost of food and fuel, our 'play' money is beginning to dwindle and we're still trying to figure out a budget that works...

Yeah I don't plan to go on about the how and whys because that could take a long time -- but I will just say that yes things are crazy and I get worried. I sometimes wonder if I am overly concerned and there have always been set backs, or if the near future holds a need for many to dive into the food storage. Needless to say it is something (with the little spare money I find) that I am trying to build up.
