The Complements Begin

As I entered my sister's house for my niece's birthday, the other day, my Aunt and Uncle both complemented me. "You look great!" they said. It's true that I hadn't seen them in about a month, but I wasn't sure that my weight loss had made a difference.

I was out of T-shirts so I was wearing a baby blue button down shirt with a white tank underneath. After I had Annika, the button down didn't exactly fit, but if I wore a tank beneath it, I could button two buttons in the middle and it looked like I meant to do that. But a few days earlier, I had realized that I could button the whole thing--even the bottom button over my post-baby paunch. "It's probably the shirt," I told myself. "Wearing a button-down will draw complements even if it doesn't fit."

Imagine my delight when at Weight Watcher's I learned that I lost 3.4 lbs this week!! (Check out 65 lbs To Go for more on that.) "Well no wonder!" I said to myself, "I've genuinely gone down a size and these blessed people have noticed."

I looked at myself in the mirror last night and I think I can see my face getting thinner. Oh, baby! HERE WE GO. Success breeds success.
